Materials, special, for bricks and blocks.-Unburnt building blocks are made by compressing earth in moulds, first at a low pressure, and then at a pressure of 100 to 200 atmospheres to remove all porosities; the blocks are then dried by a short exposure to the air and are ready for use. Any desired facing material may be applied to the earth in the moulds before pressing. The blocks are stated to be non-porous and damp-proof, and capable of resisting 200 kilos. per sq. cm.
