Abstract
A guard 2 for covering all types of structural projections on scaffolding comprises a piece of shock-absorbent material which clasps the projection. The guard 2 is rounded on the outside, having no sharp edges and forms a pocket 4 on the inside to hold the projection. The guard 2 has a semi-spherical shape and incorporates notches 7 on its edge which are of suitable shape for scaffold poles 8 meeting at the projection to run through. The outside of the guard has grooves (5, fig 1) through which adjustable ties 6 for holding the guard run. The ties may also attach a second guard to the opposite side of the projection. The projection may be a clamp which connects two scaffold bars 8 together.

GUARD FOR COVERING Al,T TYPES OF STRUCTURAL PROlECIT0NS 03 SCAFFOLDING
OBJECT OF THE INVETNION
5 The present invention is related to a guard for covering all types of structural projections protruding from scaffolding.
BACKGROUND OF THE TVETNION
Scaffolding is currently built by means of joining together tubulat elements, 10 crossbars, etc. and the platforms comprising the working surfaces by means Of structural ties, be they of the rosette, clip or similar types, which affords the possibility Of building scaffolding with the structural shapes being appreciably coplanar, unlike the former scaffolding in which they were riot coplanar due to the necessary crossings among tubes and the ties of which were made by means of clamps.
15 1-he problem widl the scaffolds currently in use is that these rosettes and clipping systems used to join them together conform some structural projections Which car, individuals may inadvertently bump and which may be damaged and because out of balance, thus entailing a drawback for their physical integrity.
20 DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The guard of this invention optimally serves to cover all types of structural projections protruding from modern scaffolding, such and tieins and joints Of sections arranged on the square, aslant, etc.
According to this invention, the guard is comprised of a piece!of shocl absorbent material which is rounded on the outside, and foes a pocket oh the inside large enough and of the proper shape to hold the structural projection to be cohered.
This piece has sonar notches around its outside edge, ideally in the Shape of a 5 convex bar, arranged in the suitable viny for the tubes or profiles meeting at the structural projection to pass through.
Out the outside, this piece has some parallel grooves through which some ideally plastic adjustable flanges run to serve the purpose of fastening the structural, Rejection in place, thus providing for its protection.
10 Optionally, if it is necessary to protect the structural projection on both sides, two pieces of the invention can be used to supplement one another to clasp the same and will be held in place by means of the clamps.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
15 Fig. 1 provides a side view of the guard of the invention placed on a structural projection on a scaffold.
Fig. 2 provides a side view of two guards of the invention arranged to supplement one another, covering the structural projection on both sides.
Fig. 3 provides a front view of the guard of the invention.
20 Fig. 4. provides a front view of the guard of the invention placed on a structural projection of a scaffold.
DESCRIPTION OF A PRACTICAL EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENL1ION
The guard (1) of the invention is comprised of a piece (2) of shoclSabsorbent 25 material which is set into place covering He structural projection (3) of the scaffold.
The outsides of the pieces (2) are rounded, avoiding any sharp edges which may give rise to catching or damaging, forming a pocket (4) on the inside whicli is to hold the structural projection to be covered.
On the outside, tile piece (2) incorporates some grooves (5) for running 5 adjustable flanges (6) through which will hold it to the structural projection and/or adjacent area.
The outside edge of the piece (2) has some notches (7) through which the tubes and/or sections (8) meeting at the structural projection are run. These notches are suitably arranged depending upon the geometric shape of each meeting point, whether it 10 he squared, aslant, etc. Optionally, if the structural projection is to be protected on both sides, two pieces can be put into place, as can be seen in Fig. 2, to clasp the projection, said pieces also being held in place by means of the flanges.
The nature of the invention in question as well as the practical embodiment 15 thereof having been sufficiently described, it must be said that the arrangements discussed hereinabove and show in the attached drawings are subject to minor changes as long as the main principle remains unchanged.
Claims (1)
1. Guard for covering all types of structural projections on scaffolding characterized in that it is comprised of a piece of shocl(-absorbent material set into place clasping the structural projection. This piece is rounded on the outside, having no sharp 5 edges, and forms a pocket inside to hold the structural projection. This piece incorporates notches on its edge which are of the suitable shape for the profiles and/or tubes meeting at the structural projection to run through. The outside of this piece incorporates some grooves through which flanges or adjustable ties for fielding the
structural projection ant /or another similar piece which is set in place to supplement the 10 other, thus protecting the structural projection on the opposite side, are run.
