Abstract

The existing cold water supply for hand washing in a portable toilet is modified by the inclusion of an electrically heated thermostatically controlled water heater 21. Cold water is pumped from storage tank 15 by hand or foot pump 9 along pipe 13 to inlet 3b of the water heater, thereby displacing an equal amount of hot water from outlet 3a along pipe 11 to a tap or faucet 19. A single actuation of the pump provides 40ml of water at 30 - 45 {C.
