Abstract

A securing device made of wire and for securing elongate material (e.g. twine, not shown) comprises a spring coil (1) having turns such that the elongate material can go along and around the spring coil (1) to be gripped by itself and by the spring coil (1). The securing device further comprises a wire fixing leg (2) joined by a wire portion (4) to the spring coil (1), by which leg (2) the securing device can be fixed in position at the top of a cane (3), with the leg (2) within the hollow central region of the cane (3). A bend (5) in the wire of the leg (2) wedges securely within the top end of the cane (3) to fix the securing device in position.
