Abstract

238,756. Imray, O. Y., (International Postal Supply Co. of New York). Dec. 1, 1924. Inking-apparatus.-An ink receptacle 15<1> with rotatable means therein applying ink to an inking-roller 20 constitutes with the roller a unit resting by gravity on a rotatable printing die 5. Preferably the ink-applying means comprises a shaft 15 with spiral members 19 secured to it and kept in contact with the roller by springs 22. The ink receptacle is prevented from rotating by a weight 18 at the bottom. The unit is mounted on a frame loosely engaged with guide standards- 11. The receptacle 15<1> may be divided and contain inks of two different colours, the roller then having a central celluloid annulus 21 between two absorbent felt layers.
