Abstract

A saw blade protector which comprises of a moulded plastic, corrugated pattern sheath to hold the saw from slipping out. The handle base will be moderately tight fitting so that the saw does not slip out. There can be a canvas strap fitted to the protector for easy carrying. The opening to the saw protector which is slightly lipped inward with a tapered edge to seal the handle to give a better grip when being conveyed. The protector can be adapted to fit most types of saws.

THE VARIABLE CORRUGATED MOULDED PLASTIC SAW SCABBARD The invention relates to a moulded plastic saw protector that will cover the complete saw blade to help prevent accidents whilst handling and conveying saws.
Saws are very sharp tools and there is no way of safely conveying them when moving from job to job as most times the teeth are exposed and could cause serious cuts to hands/limbs.
An object of this invention is to provide a safe environment when handling saws.
Accordingly, this invention provides a protective covering for the whole saw blade so that it can be carried with complete safety.
Preferably the protector is made of hard plastics material.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows a full-length view of the saw protector; FIGURE 2 shows a view of the opening where the saw goes in.
As shown in Figure 1, the saw protector comprises of a moulded plastic, corrugated pattern sheath to hold the saw from slipping out.
The handle base will be moderately tight fitting so that the saw does not slip out.
There can be a canvas strap fitted to the protector for easy carrying.
Figure 2 shows the opening to the saw protector which is slightly lipped inward with a tapered edge to seal the handle.

Claims (3)

1. A protector for use with saws so that the teeth of the implement are not exposed.
2. A protector as claimed in Claim 1 that can be used to convey the saw safely.
3. A protector as claimed in any proceeding claim which is made from hard plastics material.
