Abstract
237,212. Ernemann - Werke Akt.- Ges. July 21, 1924, [Convention date]. Lenses.-Photographic objectives corrected chromatically, spherically and astigmatically consist of a dispersive member w embraced by two collective members, the front member of which consists of at least two collective lenses, arranged so that the effective diameter of the pencil of incident rays parallel to the axis at the second surface of the dispersive lens is in relationship to the free opening at the first surface of the objective and to the aperture of the objective (K) such that K D1/D6 = 3. The length of the air space between the dispersive lens and the rear collective lens is at least 20 per cent of the total focal length of the objective. The second of the first two collective members is a meniscus lens. Numerical data are given in the Specification. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the constriction of the incident parallel rays at the dispersive member is such that the radius of the surface of the image in the vicinity of the axis is greater than twice and less than 4.5 times the focal length. The nu value of the glass of the dispersive lens is less than 41.0 and the length of the third air space is greater than one third of the aperture of the lens. Specification 186,917 is referred to. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
