Abstract

A disposable sock made of natural latex is described. It is used to protect the feet following application of a medicated cream for the treatment of skin complaints such as hyperkeratosis. The socks may be dispensed from a box in the same way as disposable surgical gloves.

Specifically for those who suffer from and in particular Hyperkeratosis.
This is the Business Draft Plan and Design: 01 Psoriatic-Arthritis/Psoriasis.
2 HYPERKERATOSIS Keratosis A skin growth caused by an overproduction of keratin the tough protein that is the major component of the outer layer of skin.

Types SEBORRHOEIC KERATOSES Often called Sorrhoeic Warts, these range from flat, dark brown, rough patches to small wart like protrusions and are covered with a greasy, removable crust. Seborrhoeic Keratoses occur mainly on the trunk. They are completely harmless but can be unsightly. SOLAR KERATOSES Small wart like red or flesh coloured growth"s that appear on exposed parts of the body as a result of overexposure to the sun over a period of years. Solar Keratoses may rarely develop into skin cancer usually squarmous cell Carcinoma.

Treatment Seborrhoeic Keratoses require no treatment unless they are large and unsightly. Solar Keratoses must always be removed because of the risk of skin cancer.
Disposasock Our foot wear can by used to treat Hyperkeratosis of the skin on the foot, front, back and heels.
It is of great benefit to the patient who has been immobilised because of this specific problem, whow'ould normally be otherwise able to walk.

Disposasock is made of latex and is an ankle sock made of ru bber with an elastic fitting on the top of the entrance to the sock which you use to pull up your feet..

00 B J EC, T'S, 01 The object of Disposasock is to treat a patient who has very bad hyperkeratosis of the feet and / or other areas of the foot.
02 To use Disposasock a prescription of emollients should be prescribed for use of up to 20 times per day.
03 The patient wears disposable latex examination gloves or equivalent and applies emulsifying agents to their feet. They remove a disposable latex examination glove and pull out a Disposasock and pull it up over their feet like they would do an ordinary sock.
04 The patient should span out time to do this according to their lifestyle.
05 At night time, a NSAID or Steroid Oi ntment/Gel/C ream whichever applicable should be used in a similar manner under occlusion at night.
06 To avoid infection Disposasock should be regularly removed and replaced with a new Disposasock.
07 Disposasock should be sold in boxes of 400 so that a sock can be used on right and left foot. 400 would suffice for a prescription to use for 20 times per day and including two for sets through the night. 1 box would constitute 1 weeks supply. 4 boxes would constitute 28 days supply just short of a month.

09 Disposasock should be priced at P-8 per box distribution of 100 of all sizes.

Disposasock will help your patient and whereas they may have been restricted with mobility they will be able to wear Disposasock quite safely and walk in Disposasock whilst using their ordinary footwear.
Disposasock will also help your patient live a normal daily lifestyle and Disposasock if worn whilst treatment is taking place at night, will prevent fissures bleeding involuntary due to being cut open whilst patients turn in bed therefore avoiding stains to bedding.

  1. CLAIMS 1. Medi-disposasock comprising of a rubber latex or plastic see through sock which has prescribed medication applied to the area that medi-disposasock is worn on. The medication prescribed could be emulsifying BP ointment, and other medically prescribed drugs.
