Abstract

A cycle safety helmet 1 comprises a front lamp 2, a rear lamp 3 and a switch, to activate the lamps. The helmet may also comprise side reflectors 5 for additional visibility.

Description

2358575 THE ILLUMINATOR CYCLE HELMET This invention relates to cycle
helmets that incorporate lamps.
At present, there are many different designs of cycle helmets and cycle lamps. They are both essential safety items, particularly for the urban cyclist. But for security reasons, it is important to keep these items with you when they are not in use. Yet, carrying these items around is cumbersome and inconvenient.
The present invention incorporates lighting devices into the body of the helmet.
Referring to the drawing, the cycle helmet comprises the main body 1, to protect the head from injury, a front lamp 2, to illuminate the road ahead and a rear lamp 3, to alert other road users to the presence of a cyclist. It also includes a side reflector 5 for increased visibility.
Just beneath the front of the helmet, there is a switch 4, to activate both the front and rear lamps.

Claims (2)

1. A cycle helmet incorporating front and rear lamps and a switch to activate the lights when required.
2. A cycle helmet as claimed in Claim 1, that also includes side reflectors for increased visibility and security.
