Description
2356578 ACTION TOY FOR TWO PLAYERS This invention relates to a toy which
is played by two people in a similar manner to the game of conkers, each player requiring one toy each to play.
An object of this invention is to provide a toy which is easy to understand and requires the skill of the player to win.
According to the present invention there is provided a toy comprising a weight on a string which is attached to a Figure by a releasable connector. The figure contains the means with which to hold and release the connector and there is a permanent attachment between the figure and connector to prevent the figure from hitting the ground when it is released from the weight and string part of the toy.
Preferably the figure is made of a plastic material but it may also have a moulded rubber covering. The connector can be made of a hard plastic apd the weight from rubber.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows the front view of an example of the figure with the weiaht and string and with the connector locked home into the top of the figure.
FigUre 2 shows the rear view of an example of the f iqure without the weight, string and connector. A means of permanent attachment is not shown.
2 Figure 3 shows one example of the permanent attachment in use after the release of the connector from the figure.
Figure 4 shows a cross - sectional side view of the top part of the figure showing the connector locked home with an example of a simple lock and release mechanism.
Figure 5 shows the positioning of the toy during play and aids in the explanation of some of the design features.
Referring to the drawing the toy comprises a figure 1 with a weight 2 and string 3 attached to a connector 4. The figure has a hole 5 in the top to accept the connector and a button 6 to release it. Between the figure and connector is a permanent attachment 8 an example of which is shown in figure 3.
Contained within the figure is an electronic device able to produce light and sound.
In order to secure the weight and string part of the toy to the figure, the connector is pushed into the hole at the top of the figure by which it is secured by means of a simple mechanism as shown in figure 4. The connector is released from the figure by depressing the button.
In order to keep the figure facing the correct way during play, the string from the weight to the connector is doubled and the connector is wider at the top. Thus when the string is held wide between two fingers the figure will 3 not turn. An illustration of this is given in figure 5.
The figure is shaped at the rear in such a way so as to be held comfortably in the palm of the hand with a finger either side of the narrow hump 7.
