Abstract

A small pad which can be fastened with velcro (R.T.M) around a vehicle seat belt or shoulder bag strap to help alleviate the discomfort caused by pressure on the shoulder and rubbing on the neck is divided by longitudinal stitching into three sections which are folded around the belt or strap and fastened together.

Description

1 2353202 VEHICLE SEAT BELT COMFORTERISHOULDER STRAP PAD FOR BAGS This
relates to a comfort pad primarily for motorists to attach to the seat belt of vehicles. The pad may also be attached around the strap of a shoulder bag, e.g. handbag with shoulder strap.
It is widely known, and expressed, that motorists suffer discomfort from seat belts caused by the constant pressure on the shoulder and edge of the belt rubbing on the neck. Pressure on shoulders is also caused when carrying a bag on the shoulder.
This item consists of a pad made with almost any type of fabric, filled with wadding, stitched into three sections the width of the vehicle seat belt and fastened with velcro/as shown in Figures 1 and 2. This fits snugly around the seat belt (Fig. 3) and can be either removed at the end of a journey or simply slid down the belt to facilitate the retraction of the seat belt.
The pad does not interfere in any way whatsoever with the free use and safety aspect of the seat belt.
It is suitable for use by both adults and children.
For use with a shoulder bag, the pad simply wraps around-th6 strap and rests on the top of the shoulder (Fig. 4).

  1. CLAIMS VEHICLE SEAT BELT COMFORTER/SHOULDER STRAP PAD FOR BAGS -11 A soft
    wrap-around pad which helps alleviate discomfort caused by: i) pressure of the vehicle seat belt on the shoulder of motorists; ii) the hard inner edge of the seat belt rubbing on the side of the neck; iii) pressure on the shoulder caused by the strap of a shoulder-carried by This pad creates no interference with the correct and legal use and movement of the seat belt. The pad is stitched into three long sections to enable it to be wrapped around the seat belt (Fig. 3) or strap (Fig 4) and fastened with velcro,-T-,tl.) 2 The pad is easily moved along the seat belt to be placed at the neck/shoulder for optimum comfort, as in Claim i 1. 3 Once in place, when driving, the pad stays around the ---- seat belt and against the top of the shoulder and side of the neck (Fig 3).
