Abstract

A device for supporting electrical components includes a casing adapted to contain electrical components 7, such as circuit breakers and the like, and a guide adapted to support the components, characterized in that the guide includes two parallel portions: a first portion 13, which is fixed, and a second portion 15, which can move with respect to the first portion and is adapted to lock the components.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for supporting electrical
components.
More particularly, the invention relates to so-called switch boxes suitable to contain automatic circuit breakers and other auxiliary devices.
These components are usually fixed to the support by means of a guide according to the DIN EN 50022 standard, which is adapted to engage corresponding recesses formed in the rear wall of the components.
The components can be fixed to the guide by means of an engagement means such as screws, hooks and other fixing members.
The aim of the present invention is to provide a device for supporting electrical components which is improved with respect to conventional systems.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device for supporting electrical components which allows to assemble the components rapidly and effectively.
Another object is to provide a device for supporting electrical components which ensures stable support.
This aim, these objects and others which will become apparent hereinafter are achieved by a device for supporting electrical components comprising a casing adapted to contain electrical components, such as circuit breakers and the like, and comprising at least one guide adapted to support the components, characterized in that the guide comprises at least two parallel portions: a first portion, which is fixed, and a second portion, which can move with respect to the first portion and is adapted to lock the components.
Further characteristics and advantages will become apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the invention, illustrated only by way of non limitative example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a sectional lateral elevation view of the device according to the invention; Figure 2 is a sectional front view of the device according to the present invention; and Figure 3 is a bottom view of the device according to the present invention.
With reference to the above figures, the device for supporting electrical components according to the present invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a casing provided with a cover, or door, 5 which can be opened to access the components 7, typically circuit breakers such as the one shown in the figures, arranged inside the casing.
A support for the components 7, which is generally designated by the reference numeral 9, is adapted to engage a recess 11 with which the electrical components are usually provided.
According to the present invention, the support 9 comprises a first fixed portion 13, which is constituted by a horizontal bar which runs substantially along the entire internal space of the casing, and a second movable portion 15, which is constituted by a horizontal bar which is rigidly associated with sliders 17 at its ends, the sliders being able to move vertically. A comb member 19 is fixed to the support 9.
According to the invention, in order to apply one or more electrical components 7, such as the circuit breaker shown in the figures, it is sufficient to rest the component on the upper portion 13 of the guide and slide the component 7 until it fits in the comb 19, fixing the component 7, by means of its clamps, to the comb 19, and then lower the movable portion 15 so that it abuts against the lower part of the recess 11 of the component 7. Once the lower portion 15 has been locked, each component 7 is firmly anchored to the guide inside the casing 3.
The casing 3 also comprises a region 21 for connection to cable troughs (now shown) for the electrical connection of the components.
Advantageously, the connection region 21 comprises at least two areas having a different cross-section, one of which is larger than the other, designated by the reference numerals 23 and 25 respectively. The different cross-section of the connecting areas 23 and 25, together with the provided reduced-thickness cutting lines 27, facilitate the cutting of the wall of the connection region according to the dimensions of the trough to be associated. The particular shape of the wall accordingly allows to perform just two cuts in order to associate the corresponding trough.
In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects, a device for supporting electrical components having been provided which allows rapid and effective assembly of the components.
The device according to the invention is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations within the scope of the appended claims. All the details may be replaced with technically equivalent elements.
The materials used, as well as the dimensions, may of course be any according to the requirements and the state of the art.
