Abstract

A filter unit (1) is described which allows easy installation of the filter unit (1) into confined and awkward positions. The filter unit (1) includes a filter element (2) which may be deployed by a latch component (5) between a first filter position denoted by a first latch element (6) to a second filter position denoted by a second latch element (7). A detent element (8) in the filter unit being cooperable with said first latch element (6) and said second latch element (7) to resiliently hold the filter element (2) in such positions. The filter unit (1) may easily be installed within a conduit (14) whilst the filter element (2) is secured in a first filter position and when so installed the filter element (2) can be deployed to the second filter position for operational filtration of air flows.
