Abstract
A food mixer 1 has a mixing blade 2 and a glass mixing bowl 4. The bowl 4 has a stainless steel axle 3 glued onto its base to accept and guide the blade 2. The adhesive used is silicone based and cured by ultraviolet radiation, typically in the wavelength range of 320-400 nanometres. The glass for the bowl 4 is soda or borosilicate based. The glass bowl 4 will not be stained by food stuffs, contaminated by odours, scratched during cleaning or deformed during heating.
Description
A GLASS-MADE BOWL HAVING A METAL AXLE FIXED IN THE
MIDDLE OF THE BOTTOM SIDE
The invention is formed by fixing a metal axle in the middle of a glassmade bowl which is a component of electromechanical appliances used in kitchens and in which miscellaneous functions like cutting, chopping, shredding, mixing, slicing, and dough kneading are performed.
The bowls that are used as a component of electromechanical appliances are usually made from plastics fitted in the middle with a metal axle or without any metal axle.
These plastic-made bowls have the following disadvantages:
Difficulty in washing, (a) When the plastic-made bowls need to be washed after use, there exists a possibility of losing their original shapes and being deformed because of heat after a few washing trials by a dishwasher.
(b) In the case of manual washing instead of using a dishwasher, the cloth or the fibre used in the washing process may indeed scratch the surface of these plastic-made bowls, and thus any means of possibility for a micro-biological activity may come into place which is harmful for the health.
Smell keeping,
Plastic-made bowls keep the smells of miscellaneous foods like meat, fish, egg, onion, garlic, dried fruit, citrus fruits, and various spices whose permanent effect is felt in a pretty short time.
Colour keeping,
Plastic-made bowls, after one or two usage, will take on the colours of food like carrot, and there exists no chance for these colours to take out from the surface of the bowls.
Deformation with heat,
Plastic-made bowls expand and go over some means of a change in their geometric dimensions and get older when they are filled with materials like hot water and hot soup of approximately 70C.
Getting a worn look in a short time,
Plastic-made bowls lose their initial attractiveness after a few uses because of the reasons explained above.
The invention belongs to the technical class of small size household appliances of the multipurpose food-processor and food chopper types equipped with a turning blade that is functioning as resting on the bottom side of a bowl.
The invention will now be described by way of example only with reference to the drawings, of which:
Figure 1 shows a complete unit;
Figure 2 shows a glass-made bowl and metal axle; and
Figure 3 shows a glass-made bowl, metal axle and blade.
As shown in the drawings, the invention roughly consists of a blade 2 having a plastic carrier providing an appropriate self-turning movement via a body 1, which has an electrical motor that works by pressing its switch 5 externally attached to it, and a glass-made bowl 4 specially equipped with an axle 3 on which that blade 2 is at rest in order to function.
The invention, in fact, is the assembly of the metal axle 3 to the glassmade bowl 4.
The invention is a metal axle-fixed glass bowl obtained by a chemical process. In this process; the metal axle 3 (preferably made from AISI 304 quality stainless steel) is fixed (preferably by ultraviolet rays of 320-400 nanometers wavelength) into a bowl made up of soda or borosilicate type of glass for 30 seconds with the help of special silicone based glue.
Electromechanical kitchen appliances that are subject to discussion should be easy to clean. It is easier to wash a glass bowl than a plastic one. One will definitely prefer using glass ones since they keep almost no smell within. Also note that nourishment materials like carrot that cause permanent colour change in plastic bowls will not be successful for the glass bowls.
This invention enables to take all advantages of a glass-made bowl, which fixed in the middle with a metal axle, over the plastic bowls.
