Abstract
The motorcycle consists of two sections, the front section including front wheel and rear section including rear wheel and engine, which are releasably secured together. There are two further components that can be separated from the motorcycle, namely the petrol tank and the seat. The handlebars, clutch and brake levers, fuel line and electrics have been modified to allow the bike to be easily separated.
Description
PACK AWAY MOTORCYCLE
This invention refers to a motorcycle which can be easily dismantled for the purposes of storage or transportation.
When a motorcycle is being stored or transported it tends to take up a significant amount of space and it is unwieldy to lift. All motorbikes can be dismantled so that they may be packed away more efficiently but this tends to be both time-consuming and impractical without a good mechanical knowledge.
According to the present invention there is a motorbike that overcomes the problems described above as it can be easily dismantled. The motorbike is separated into two sections, consisting of the front wheel section and the rear wheel section including the engine. There are two other components that may be separated from the motorcycle, namely the petrol tank and the seat.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :- Figure 1 shows the seat ;
Figure 2 shows the rear wheel section including the engine;
Figure 3 shows the petrol tank;
Figure 4 shows the front wheel section; and
Figure 5 shows the whole motorcycle in its assembled form
Referring to the drawing the motorcycle comprises a front wheel section and rear wheel section including the engine which are secured together at point (A) by, for example, a bolt, catch or similar means. Furthermore, the petrol tank and rear seat detach from the rear section and the handlebars, clutch and brake levers, fuel line and electrics have been modified to allow for the two sections to be easily separated.
In order to dismantle the motorcycle the means securing the seat to the rear section is released and the seat removed. The means securing the petrol tank to the rear section is then released and the fuel line is detached from the carburettor to allow it to be removed from the rear section. The clutch and brake levers are unfastened from the handlebars and then the handlebars themselves are adjusted in such a fashion as to allow them to be packed away neatly with the relevant section of the motorcycle.
The electrics from the front section of the motorcycle are uncoupled from the electrics of the rear section. Finally, the means securing the front and rear sections is released. The motorcycle is now completely dismantled and ready to be packed away.
To assemble the motorcycle the steps described above are carried out in the reverse sequence.
