Abstract
The support comprises a rubber/spring beneath a laterally extending saddle allowing it to tilt laterally during pedalling as well as forwardly. It is held beneath the saddle by a bolt passing through the centre of the saddle, the rubber/spring and a lower metal plate which is coupled to a standard saddle post. A nut on the bolt lower end adjusts the rubber/spring compression for degree of saddle movement.
Description
THE PRINCIPLE OF THE DESIGN IS TO PROVIDE A CROSSWISE SEAT FOR PEDDLE
OPERATE VEHICLES OR EXERCISE MACHINES, REPLACING THE TRADITIONAL
SADDLE.
THE FOUR MAIN POINTS ARE: (1) A SEAT SECURED ON A SINGLE CENTRAL POINT ENABLING THE SEAT TO
PIVOT AND MOVE IN A CIRCULA MOVEMENT.
(2) A RUBBER/SYNTHETIC/SPRING, MOUNT ALLOWING THE SEAT TO TILT
FROM SIDE TO SIDE THUS ALLOWING THE FULL ROTATIONAL MOVEMENT
REQUIRED FOR PEDDLING.
(3) THE CENTRAL SUPPORT GOING THROUGH THE SEAT PROVIDE LATERAL
SUPPORT WHILE STILL ALLOWING THE SEAT TO TILT.
BY ADJUSTING THE PRESSURE TO THE NUT YOU AN ADJUST THE AMOUNT OF
MOVEMENT REQUIRED.
(4) A STANDARD SADDLE BRACKET WHICH ALLOWS THE SEAT TO BE TILTED
FORWARD AND BACKWARD FOR THE RIDERS COMFORT.
(A) MACHINE SCREW OR RIDGE ROD/BAR.
(B) RUBBER MOUNT (C) METAL PLATE (D) NUTS (E) STANDARD AJUSTABLE SADDLE MOUNT (F) CROSSWISE SEAT DESIGN WILL VARY
A THE METAL MACHINE SCREW GIVES BOTH LATERAL SUPPORT FOR THE SEAT
WHICH GOES ACROSS THE BIKE OR PEDDLE DRIVEN VEHICLE, ALSO BY VARYING
THE TIGHTNESS THE AMOUNT OF MOVEMENT CAN BE ADJUSTED TO SUIT THE
RIDER, FROM EITHER THE TOP OR BOTTOM.
B THE RUBBER MOUNT OR SPRING ENABLES THE CROSSWISE SEAT SECURED IN
THE CENTER BY A TO MOVE BOTH IN THE FORE AND AFT DIRECTION AND UP AND
DOWN AND ALLOWING THE RIDER TO PEDDLE.
C METAL PLATE TO ENABLE THE USES OF A STANDARD BIKE FITTING TO ATTACH
THE SEAT TO THE FRAME.
D NUT OR NUTS TO SECURE THE SEAT/THE RUBBER MOUNT/METAL PLATE, TO
F, IN THE PRODUCTION UNIT THIS MAY BE REPLACED BY AN EASIER
ADJUSTABLE SYSTEM AS BY TIGHTENING A THE AMOUNT OF MOVEMENT CAN BE
REGULATED.
F THE STANDARD FITTING ENABLE THE CROSSWISE SEAT TO BE SECURED TO THE
BIKE AND ALSO PROVIDING ANGULAR ADJUSTMENT OF THE SEAT TO SUIT THE
RIDER POSITION.
Key to the figures a) Machine screw or metal support b) Rubber mount c) Metal plate d) Nuts e) Standard adjustable saddle mount f) Crosswise seat (designs may vary)
Claims (5)
- CIAIMS 1 A flexible joint to attach a seat/saddle to any type of peddle bike or exercise machine.
- 2 A flexible joint for a seat/saddle as in claim 1, which is designed with a central flexible support to allow full movement of a peddling motion suitable for bicycles or exercise machine.
- 3 The flexible joint connect to the machine by a normal bike/saddle adjustable post attachments.
- 4 The flexible joint allows different designs of seat/saddle to be employed.
- 5 The flexible joint as claimed in any proceeding claim is made from metal, plastic materials, wood, rubber, synthetics, or any combination of these.
