Abstract

An adjustable leg (on left) to permit use of a ladder on uneven ground has a series of paired bolt - holes permitting attachment at one of a number of discrete locations of a screw clamp, which clamps the leg to a ladder stile at a desired position by means of the screw (at left).

DISCRIPTION LADDER SAFETY LEG AJUSTABLE AND RUST PROOF THIS UNIT IS A ONE PIECE OF LIGHT EQUIPMENT WHICH IS EASY TO CLAMP ON TO EITHER SIDE OF A LADDER ALLOWING THE USER TO AJUST THE LEVEL OF THAT LEG TO COMPINSATE FOR UNEVEN GROUND.
THERE ARE 3 VARIATIONS OF THE FOOT 2 OF WHICH ARE MULTI DIRECTIONAL SEE DRAWINGS 4-5-6-12-13 THE CAMPING BRACKET AND ALL SMALL COMPONENTS ARE TO BE STAINLES STEEL-THE STUB LEG IS TO BE 75 X 25 MM BOX SECTION ALUMINIUM ALSO THE FOOT SEE DRAWING 4-5

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS ADJUSTABLE LADDER SAFETY LEG 1) COMPRISES A LENGTH OF BOX SECTION ALUMDMJK WITH A STAINLESS STEEL QUICK RELEASE CLAMP UNIT, WHICH CAN BE FITTED TO EITHER LEG OF EXISTING LADDER AND IS ADJUSTABLE DOWNWARDS TO APPROX. 200M. M., TO COMPENSATE FOR THE UNEVEN LEVEL OF GROUND OR OTHER SURFACE.
  2. 2) IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD FEXED FOOT THERE ARE 2 MULTI DIRECTIONAL VARIATIONS : (a) THE SWIVEL FOOT AND (b) THE BALL JOINT FOOT. BOTH OF TISSE MULTI-DIRECTIONAL FEET CAN BE USED IN PAIRS IN THE MANUFACTURE OF NEW LADDERS IN ADJUSTABLE FORM, AND ALSO IN FIXED FORM ON lE ADJUSTABLE LADDER SAFETY LEG.
  3. 3) THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE IS THAT IT ALLOWS le USE OF ANY LADDER SAFELY ON UNEVEN GROUND.
