Disc and wheel apparatus.-The work in a rotary grinding-machine is driven by a fluid motor, which is fed by a pump 10 mounted on the reciprocating work-table. The rotor 3 of the motor is secured to the hub of a work-driving plate 4, which runs on ball bearings 5 on the headstock 1 and the casing 2 of the motor. The work may be supported on a centre carried by the shaft 7 of the headstock, which shaft does not rotate, and by a second centre, or for internal grinding, a chuck is secured to the shaft 7 and to the plate 4, the shaft 7 then rotating.
