Abstract
A conventional umbrella is extended around the periphery by providing a clear plastics section below the normal circumference of the canopy to provide additional weather protection without obstructing the user's view.
Description
2336530 EXTENDED UMBRELLA This invention relates to the weather conditions
we have in this Country & all over the world we live in today.
The Extended Umbrella, a new product concept & designed to provide a higher level of protection against the rain yet while maintaining adequate visibility when using an umbrella.
The product being considered as conceived is the new Extended Umbrella.
The concept calls for the manufacture & distribution of a modification to conventional umbrellas that would provide the user with more protection against the rain while also enabling him or her to see where he or she is going. To accomplish this, the Extended Umbrella would be configured as shown in the accompanying illustration. (See page no 3 portrayal fig. 1 3D version).
The concept is based on the observation that conventional umbrellas suffer from a limitation when used under conditions of wind- driven rain.
If one hold's the Umbrella perfectly upright, the rain is likely to come sideways under the umbrella, thus leaving the person holding the umbrella exposed to the rain. Consequently, most people faced with such a situation will simply tilt the umbrella at an angle to deflect the rain.
However, assuming the umbrefla is tilted forward, which is most often the case, this leaves the user with restricted visibility as to one's path. While the person holding an umbrella in this manner might be able to see the pathway immediately in front of his or her feet, the broader view is blocked by the umbrella & the person walking along in this manner is at risk of bumping into solid objects or other people.
The Extended Umbrella would correct both these shortcomings. The concept calls for extending this profile of the standard umbrella to include a section of clear plastic around the umbrella's circumference.
This extended section of covering would provide a broader expanse of protection, even when rain is being blown by the wind at an angle such that it would reach under a standard umbrella. However, the person using this device would shill be able to see where he or she is going by looking through the clear plastic. Even if the umbrella at a severely horizontal angle, the person under the Extended Umbrella would be able to maintain an adequate view of the pedestrians, who are likely to be using conventional umbrellas which make it difficult for them to see where they are going, or solid objects such as telephone poles, fire hydrants, street sign post, etc.

Claims (4)
1. Normal / basic type of conventional umbrella to the one's we have in use everyday like today around this world; but this unique umbrella is the only "Unique Extended Umbrella" ( UEU) which is extended a bit extra with a clear circumference around underneath the normal conventional umbrella.
2. This UEV as claimed in claim 1 with a clear circumference around underneath the Normal Conventional UmbreMs (NCU) makes it much easier to observe the view in front or in the back right or left at any angle possible.
3. This UEU as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, is the latest design which you can observe what ever you are doing in all kind's of weather like just sitting around which will act as a canopy cover/ shade, or maybe walking and it starts to rain which will then act as a protection against al kind of bad weather, rain, snow or wind.
4. This UEU as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3, will protect you from all kind's of bad weather and will also help you to observe the view at the same time in any angle, with this UEU you won't have to tilt this umbrella like the NCU we have today which you have to tilt at an angle if the weather is bad, to protect yourself. With the new LTEU, all you do is use it as a normal umbrella and you could benefit in more than one way.
No 1. Protect yourself No 2 Observe View.
