Abstract

The pipe is clamped between two blocks 3,4 profiled to accept the pipe, a further block 2 with an internal screw-thread being bolted to the block 4; a hollow pipe cutting tool 6 is externally screw-threaded for engagement with the block screw-thread for movement to cut the pipe, the upper end being contained in a branch union fitting 1 for connection to e.g. a straight compression coupling, a compression tee piece, a compression elbow, a washing machine coupling, tee or elbow, or bibcock.

Description

UNIVERSAL TUBE CLAMP Brass 12mrn ballofix type hose union. Assemble with item NO 6 high carbon steel cutting pin.
2 Brass top plate drilled and taped centrally M12 fine. Drilled and counterbored to accept item N05 flush. Counterbore for 0 ring.
3 Brass middle plate drilled 8.lmm centrally. Counterbored each side to accept 0 rings. Round bottomed groove to accept 15mm copper tube. 4.lmm bolt clearance holes.
4 Brass base plate drilled and taped M4 fine. Round bottomed groove to accept 1 5mm copper tube.
5 M4 fine allen capped brass bolts with 1 Omm of thread. Total length 37mm.
6 High carbon steel cutting pin drilled through 6mm and threadedl2mm fine X37mm to shoulder. Harden and temper saw edge.
7 Range of fittings to include; drain of cock, straight compression coupling, compression tee, compression elbow, washing machine as above, bibcock, back to wall bibcock,l/2" BSP female coupling.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Assemble together brass top and middle plates items NO 2 and 3 with 0 rings in place.
Clean of any paint and corrosion of the tube in the desired position using emery cloth supplied.
Offer up base plate item NO 4 and secure all plates together and in place using items NO 5 brass hexagon bolts.
Once fully secured to tube, insert cutting pin item N06 with 0 ring in place and relevant selected fitting item N01, ensuring that flow is in the of position.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS A plumbing device known as the universal tube clamp, that has been designed to allow the addition of a range of fittings without the need to disconnect and drain down the water supply.
    The range of fittings are; 12mm drain cock, straight compression coupling, compression tee, compression elbow, washing machine coupling, washing machine tee, washing machine elbow and 1/2 " BSP female coupling to accept bibcock and various other fittings. All fittings have ballofix type of operation.
