Motor-vehicle and like head lamps.-In order further to reduce glare when pivotally-mounted vehicle head lamps are dipped on approaching other vehicles, the lamps 1 are provided with forwardly-projecting hoods 2a of translucent material which when the lamps are in the inclined position partially obscure the beam in a horizontal direction.
