Abstract
233,011. Cobb, J. W., and Hodsman, H. J. Jan. 4, 1924. Sulphur.-In the removal of sulphur from fuel gas, in which the partial removal of hydrogen sulphide is effected by passing the gas containing sufficient oxygen over hot contact material such as iron oxide, the contact material is heated to ensure that the free sulphur formed is carried forward from the contact bed, and ammonia, which may be contained in the gas, is utilised to remove' any sulphur-dioxide which may be formed.
