Abstract

232,836. Sawyer, F. L. Aug. 5, 1924. Outdoor games.-A tubular ring having a diameter of not more than fourteen inches for use in playing iing-tennis, is adapted to retain an internal pressure of more than one atmosphere- and is provided with inwardly directed ridges or flanges formed at right angles to the plane of the ring to counteract distortion. As shown, a ring 37 of rubber or other elastic material is formed in two parts each provided with flanges 3&, which serve both to join the parts together and to stiffen the ring. A covering 35, of felt or other soft material is wound round the ring and secured thereon by sewing or cementing.
