Abstract

A hand-held urinal (10) comprises a receptacle (12) having a rim (16) and an upper part (14) on the rim (16). The receptacle (12) is of a relatively stiff plastics material. The upper part is of a relatively soft, elastomeric material, and is anatomically shaped so that, when the urinal is held in place on a person's body, the upper part forms a liquid-tight seal around the person's urinary orifice.The upper part has a peripherally extending portion (28) and a wall (36) which extends inwardly from the peripherally extending portion (28) to a thickened edge (38). The receptacle (12) has a drain opening which is formed by the lumen (24) of an integrally formed connector tube (22) projecting from the outside of the receptacle (12).
