Abstract

A can opener has two blades 1,3 which pierce the can when the opener is clamped onto the can and a further blade 2 which is movable along an arcuate guide track by means of a butterfly to cut the can.

Description

FEDORAK STAY - FRESH CAN OPENER The Fedorak Stay - Fresh Can Opener is used to allow the use of the Fedorak Stay Fresh Can Mouth. The circumference and diameter vary with the circumference and diameter of the can. The can opener is semi circular in shape with a straight tapered handle that has an easier - grip rubber pad on the upper portion of the handle to allow a better grip of the opener.
The can opener clamps onto the can in the area denoted by the raised black line ( please see description of the Fedorak Stay - Fresh Can Mouth ).
This clamping action pierces into the can lid at the extemeties of the raised black line. These extemeties also mark the top of Fedorak Stay - Fresh Can Mouths gussets. Before clamping the Stay - Fresh Can Opener the " butterfly " ( which guides the cutting lid cutting blade around the circumference of the can lid ) is wound around to one of these ends , for example the left end.
The butterfly is then turned in an anti - clock wise direction, this action cuts through the rim of the can, allowing access to the left gusset of the Stay - Fresh Can Mouth, " Cutter 1 " ( in this example ) is then actioned upon by the depression of a button mechanism , this cuts the left gusset of the Stay - Fresh Mouth. The " butterfly " then guides " Cutter 2 " around the circumference as denoted by the raised black - line on the can lid, until it reaches the right gusset, as denoted by the raised printed mark that denotes this ( as one that denotes the left gusset ). The " butterfly " is then turned in a clockwise direction and the can rim is broken onthe right side. The depression of a button mechanism on the right side of the can opener then actions " Cutter 3 ". The Stay - Fresh Can Opener is then removed, the can moth released and the contents accessed.
This application covers the specialised springs, nuts , bolts , washers, screws , handles butterfly " and so forth ( including new concepts ) to enable the artifact to function fully and efficently.
