Abstract

In an elevator door control system, attempts to close the door are suspended when an obstacle is detected by the array of sensors 3A, 3B. However, when smoke is detected by a sensor 5 or 5' the closure suspension function is inhibited. The aim is to prevent the lift being forced to remain on a floor where there is a fire when the obstacle detector 3A, 3B is erroneously activated by the smoke.
