Abstract
A credit card, store card, debit card or any other payment card or identity card where whole or part of an individual's fingerprint is stored electronically, digitally, by etching, picture, hologram or any other method on the card to give each individual card a unique identity.
Description
CREDIT CARD/ DEBIT CARD / CHEQUE CARD / STORE
CARD OR ANY OTHER PAYMENT CARD IDENTIFICATION /
SECURITY MEASURE OR METHOD BASED ON AN
INDIVIDUAL'S FINGERPRINT
This invention is related to a design a credit card, debit card, cheque card, scorecard.
Such cards suffer from the disadvantages that although security measures such as individuals signatures, and holograms are present counterfeiting and fraud still cost credit card companies and banks millions of pounds or dollars of revenue.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing Figure 1.
The object of this invention is to create unique cards for each individual person by storing part or whole of an individuals fingerprint 1 on the card electronically, digitally, by etching, picture, hologram or any other method of image storing so that each card will have an individual identity and be unique.
Part or whole of the print can either be readily visible on the outside of the card or stored on a location such as the magnetic strip. On presentation of the card for payment or identification the stored part the print is compared to the individuals own print either electronically by a machine or by the person accepting the card. If the print on the card and the print of the individual presenting the card is similar the card is accepted.
On applying for a credit card an individual would be requested to present part of his or her fingerprint on a ink pad or similar provided by the credit card company or bank. This sample of the print would be copied and stored on the card as described above. On presentation of the card for payment or cash the part or whole of the fingerprint must match that of the person presenting the card for the transaction to proceed. If part of the fingerprint is stored, on presentation the card would be inserted into a machine which would magnify the stored
image, the individual presenting the card would then insert hiker finger into a machine which would display the whole of his/her
fingerprint. If the print of the individual presenting card matches the
print on the card the card would be accepted.
This gives each individual card an unique identity and only the
person who presented the initial print sample can use this card.
Counterfeiting of this type of card would be exceedingly difficult.
