Abstract
231,358. Dawson & Son, Ltd., J., and Dawson, J. June 20, 1924. Addition to 221,087. Belts.-A V-shaped driving-belt, comprising a number of superposed flat belts of decreasing size or width secured together by rivets of elliptic or oval cross section, as in the parent Specification, is built up from the centre, the central belts 3, 4 being secured together by nails, staples or the like 7, one or more belts 2, 5 being arranged above and/or below the central belts and secured by nails &c. 8, additional layers, if employed, being secured in like manner and the whole assemblage secured by the elliptic or oval rivets 9. The belts are also preferably stuck together with gum in the usual manner. The arrangement may be that the nails &c. decrease in length from each rivet 9 to a point midway between the rivets as shown, or, in belts of small size, there may be only one nail between each pair of rivets.
