Abstract

The invention relates to a pallet (1) comprising a major surface (2), feet (3) recessed from the major surface (2), and drainage means (4), the arrangement being such that the drainage means (4) permit drainage from the major surface (2) into the feet (3). The pallet is made from plastic, in the embodiment a multi-, suitably dual-skin plastic and the major surface (2) in use supports cargo (not shown). Each foot (3) has a ledge (9) for receiving a bottom edge (10) of a sleeve, and, at a corner foot, the ledge (9) extends around two external sides of the foot. The ledge (9) is continuous or discontinuous and provides a planar support surface on which the sleeve is received so that the whole of the bottom edge of the sleeve is uniformly received and supported by the ledge (9). This is important because in this way no part of the bottom (10) of the sleeve (7) is unsupported, which means that the sleeve (7) is undeformed in use under vertical load.
