Abstract

A sealable container houses a tissue impregnated with an organic solvent and sealed within a second sealable container. A tissue impregnated with an aqueous cleansing solution sealed is within a third sealable container housed in the first mentioned sealable container. This first container may also include one or more dry tissues. Typically the organic solvent is a petroleum based cleansing agent, for example ethoxyethane or benzene. Other organic solvents for removing grease, paint and the like may however be employed. The packaged tissues may be used by motorists whose hands become soiled by grease etc during work on a vehicle while on a journey.

Description

CLEANSING TISSUES This invention relates to cleansing tissues of cloth or paper.
Cloth and paper tissues impregnated with a cleansing solution are well known. These tissues are normally folded and retained within some form of sealable envelope or container. The impregnating solution is normally a scented aqueous solution which may include a liquid detergent.
While useful for wiping hands or faces after, for example, a meal or when travelling, their application is limited to removing surface dirt and perspiration.
Many motorists are faced with the need to change a wheel or make an engine adjustment during a journey. It is more than likely that when doing so the motorist's hands become at least partially soiled with grease and other substances which cannot be removed using conventional cleansing tissues. It is also often the case that the only other available cleansing medium is water. Consequently the driver is required to continue his or her journey with grease ingrained hands which soil the vehicle's steering wheel and all items of clothing and upholstery which come into contact therewith.
The present invention sets out to provide cleansing tissues by use of which grease and other such materials can be removed. The invention also provides a combination of different tissues which will enable a driver to proceed on a journey with relatively clean hands and without the soiling problems referred to above.
According to the present invention in one aspect there is provided a paper or cloth tissue impregnated with an organic solvent and sealed within a sealable container.
An "organic solvent" is one able to remove such substances as grease, paint and the like.
More than one such tissue may be sealed within the same sealable container. The or each container may be impermeable.
In another aspect there is provided a sealable container which contains a tissue impregnated with an organic solvent and sealed within a second sealable container and a tissue impregnated with an aqueous cleansing solution sealed within a third sealable container.
The first mentioned sealable container may also contain one or more dry tissues.
Typically the organic solvent is a petroleum based cleansing agent, for example ethoxyethane or benzene.
Other organic solvents for removing grease, paint and the like may however be employed.
Typically the cleansing solution is an aqueous solution of a detergent.
The tissues are preferably paper tissues.
The tissues are preferably folded, either before or after impregnation and are preferably contained in sealed plastics bags, cartons, tubs or the like.
In one arrangement, an outer sealed plastics bag contains a folded tissue impregnated with an organic solvent and sealed within a first inner plastics bag; a folded tissue impregnated with an aqueous cleansing solution sealed within a second inner plastics bag; and a folded dry tissue either contained within a third inner plastics bag or loose within the outer sealed plastics bag. More than one tissue may be provided within each bag. Means may be provided for securing the outer plastics bag to the interior of a vehicle.
In another arrangement, three separate or joined sealable containers are provided, one containing a plurality of solvent impregnated tissues, another containing a plurality of tissues impregnated with an aqueous cleansing agent, and a third containing a plurality of dry tissues. The containers may comprise plastics cartons or tubs, each joined to the others at their lids, sides or bases.
Alternatively, a single tub-like container with three separate compartments may be provided, one for housing a plurality of solvent impregnated tissues, a second for housing a plurality of tissues impregnated with an aqueous cleansing fluid and a third housing dry tissues. The dry tissues may be housed with a catch in the container lid.
It will be appreciated that the foregoing is merely exemplary of cleansing tissues in accordance with the invention and that various modifications can readily be made thereto without departing from the true scope of the invention.
