Abstract
To build walls, roofing panels, or furniture, e.g., or for use as toy building blocks, triangular blocks (M,F) are employed, blocks (M) having elongate projections along each edge to engage end-to-end channels along each edge of each block (F).
Description
KEY TO DRAWINGS PAGES 1 AND 2.
Fig.l. Female Triblok - front view (back is identical)
Has recessed channeling to take male fitting.
Fig.2. Male front. (back same) has projecting blocks
to fit into female.
Fig.3. End view of female, (at slight angle showing one side)
Has recessed channel all around to take male.
Fig.4. End view of male, showing one of the three projecting
blocks to fit female channel.
Fig.5. Half-size female for connecting full-size blocks
to vertical runners, female shown is channeled
exactly as full-size above.
Fig.6. Half-size male, for end of line tribloks connecting
to vertical runners.
Fig.7. Wall of tribloks showing runners for support that have
channels grooved along their length for male tribloks
to slot into. Male tribloks are marked 'M' and female 'F'. This also shows how the half-size blocks are used.
Fig.8. Shows alternative wall construction and one male triblok
with two of it's three connecting blocks exposed.
A SET OF BUILDING BLOCKS.
This invention relates to a set of building blocks.
Conventional bricks for building have been around for thousands of years, and have certain disadvantages in high speed construction. They need the skills of a craftsman to erect, and a cement for bonding that needs to dry out, and is therefore vulnerable if constructed in wet weather. The present invention relates to a set of building blocks that provides advantages over conventional bricks and building methods, in strength, flexibility under stress, speed of construction and versatility of usage.
Claims (6)
1. The design does away with the requirement of conventional
mortar cement bonding in construction and can therefore
be built in wet weather conditions.
2. The inventions versatility makes it suitable for the
mass production of the units in various materials for
use as educational toy building blocks for children or
for model constructions, kit form D.I.Y doors, furniture,
walls and roofing panels.
3. The claimed superiority of the invention over conventional
brick building is that the particular shape of the blocks
in conjunction with a male and female locking system are
securely held together with a high degree of stability
without cementing, and can be bonded even more securely
by the use of an adhesive that can be rapidly painted
onto the joining sections and built by persons without
the training of a skilled craftsman, and more quickly
than conventional methods.
4. The blocks invented, can be made in larger sizes than
conventional bricks without loss of ease in handling,
for example, a block with sides each measuring 30cm in
length, will give a covered area of more than three
conventional bricks of standard size.
5. The invention has the advantage of being transported in
convenient compact packaging and is simple to construct.
As building block sets in miniature scaLe for children
and for model making, the design has the advantage of
superior stability and simplicity of construction in
comparison to other designs available.
6. For use in roofing, thin styles of the design can be
manufactured, that when fitted are self supporting
without the need for separate support channells around
each individual unit. -maintaining a higher degree of
stability than the vast majority of conventional tiles.
