Abstract
Walls are dry-lined using fixing plates 3 to retain a moisture-proof membrane 2 against the wall, plasterboard panels, e.g., being glued to the plates. The plates are also glued to the outer face of the membrane.
Description
ing.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a method and an arrangement in which the dabs on each of the few number of fixings allow free flow of air in both vertical and horizontal directions between the plasterboard and the protection membrane, for thereby preventing condensation in this layer.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a method and an arrangement in which the positioning of the points of fixings are not critical in any of the three directions, i.e. vertically and horizontally on the wall, and distance from the wall.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a method and an arrangement for applying dry lining materials, in which the supporting battens do not require adjustment as regards the depth of the framework, due to unevenness of the wall, before the plasterboard is applied, i.e. to provide a method and an arrangement in which adjustment of the plasterboards are carried out at the same time as said plasterboards are applied.
An object of the present invention will also be to provide a method and an arrangement which compared with prior art techniques are superior as regards ease, speed and non-critical nature of the application of the points of affixing, dabs and plasterboards.
Brief disclosure of the invention
The above objects are achieved in a method of the type as mentioned in the preamble, which according to the present invention is characterized in that the method comprises the following steps: a) using a number of dab plates which are affixed to
the membrane when said membrane is affixed to the
wall, b) applying an adhesive to selected numbers of dab
plates to be covered by a plasterboard sheet, c) pressing a first plasterboard sheet onto a first
selected number of dab plates whilst being levelled
out, d) pressing the next plasterboard sheet onto the next
selected number of dab plates adjacent to and
against said first plasterboard.
Further, in the arrangement as stated in the preamble, the present invention in characterized in that the arrangement includes a dab plate adapted to be affixed to the outer surface of the membrane when said membrane is affixed to the wall.
Further objects and advantages related to the present invention will appear from the following description taken in conjunction with the appending drawings, as well as from the attached patent claims.

Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, including a typical fixing component in position.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a room illustrating the placement of dab plates holding the inner protecting membrane in position and constituting affixing points for plasterboard panels.

Description of embodiments
In figures 1-5 there is illustrated a method for applying plasterboards on a wall 1', a wall face 1 being illustrated especially in Fig. 4 and 5. To this wall face 1 there is attached a moistureproof membrane 2, and according to the present method and arrangement said membrane 2 is affixed to the wall face 1 by means of a plurality of dab plates 3, each dab plate 3 being affixed to the wall 1' in an appropriate wall hole 4 by means of a brick plug 5. Appropriately, the brick plug 5 is firstly places through a hole 3A in the centre of the dab plate 3, as this is illustrated in Figures 1-3, after which a sealing rope 6 is rapped around the plug 5 up against the dab plate 3.
Thereafter the shaft 5A of the plug 5 carrying the dab plate 3 is placed into the predrilled hole 2b in the moisterproof membrane 2, preferably a hole 2b in the bottom portion 2c of an associated stud 2a of said membrane, and is hammered firmly into position in said wall hole 4.
For standard plasterboards 7a-7n of 1200 mm width, to be placed vertically on the wall, see especially Fig. 4, three points of fixing along the line of plasterboard joints 8 may be used, i.e. close to the floor 9a, close to the ceiling 9b and at mid-height 9c. In addition one point of fixing 9d can be used at the centre of the upper half of the board 7a, as well as one fixing 9d at the lower half of the board 7a. Thus a average of 5 points of fixing 9a-9e can be used per plasterboard 7a-7n, respectively.
Additional points of fixing can be used at corners between two walls, i.e. three close to the corner of each wall. For plasterboards cut to size substantially less than said standard board width of 1200 mm, two centre points of fixing can be omitted.
After having used a number of dab plates 3 to affix the membrane 2 to the wall face 1, adhesive 10a, 1Ob is applied to the same number of dab plates 3 to be covered by a plasterboard sheet 7a, it being noted that dab adhesive 10a, 1Ob should be applied liberally to each point of fixing 9a-9e, so as to provide a dab adhesive back part 10a as well as a dab adhesive front part 1Ob, such back part 10a and front part 1Ob of dab adhesive being possible as the dab plate 3 is provided with protrusions 11a on the back of each dab plate 3, so as to allow a space 12 between said dab plate 3 and said membrane 2.
If there is used adhesive of for example the type Gyproc
Dri-wall Adhesive such adhesive should be allowed to cure for approximately 5 minutes, whereafter, in an appropriate sequence, a first plasterboard sheet can be pressed onto a first selected number of dab plates whilst being levelled out, whereafter the next plasterboard sheets can be pressed onto the next selected number of dab plates adjacent to and against said first plasterboard, etc.
Possibly, each plasterboard sheet can be supported from the floor with a piece of wood or similar under the base.
Each board can be supported for approximately one minute and pressed against individual dab plates, the levelling out of each plasterboard being affected at the same time.
When the next board is applied adjacent to and against the previous board the support at the butt joint can be affected by using an filler of dab adhesive against the moistureproof membrane.
In accordance with the present invention there is used an affixing means, i.e. a brick plug 5 which is common for both said membrane 2 and said dab plate 3.
Appropriately, there is used a sealing rope 6 around said affixing means or plug 5, and as an adhesive there might be use any suitable material, for example high-density polyethylene.
The shape and dimension of the dab plates 3 to be used, should be so as to give optimal support under the plasterboard, including plasterboard joints. Further, the shape and size should give optimal number and spacing between points of fixing 9a-9e. Consequently, such dab plates 3 should have a certain thickness T for allowing free flow of air in both vertical and horizontal direction between plaster board 7 and membrane 2.
In Figure 1-3 there is illustrated a first embodiment of a dab plate 3, the shape and size thereof giving a maximum surface contact area for bonding of dab adhesive, e.g. having a grill form, which should not inhibit adhesive from being easily pressed in behind the plate.
The number of protrusions lia on the dab plate 3 should be sufficient for maintaining the space 12 between the back part 1Oa of the dab plate 3 and the adjacent membrane 2, even though some of the protrusions 11a may coincide with and protrude into the cavities of the membrane studs 2a.
The centre hole 3A of each dab plate 3 should be designed to fit existing components, for example fixing components having a "countersunk" head 5B, and having a central support of the shaft 5A by being passed tightly through an opening 2b in the bottom portion 2c of the associated stud 2a of the membrane 2.
