Abstract

A safety device, particularly for guiding persons to an exit under conditions of poor visibility comprises a strip of material having a raised pattern e.g. of arrows, on its surface to enable persons through tactile contact with the patterns, to determine the route to the nearest exit. The device may be made of a fluorescent material. The strip of material is mounted inside a building.

Description

THIS rNVEMON ONCE IN PLACE INDICATES TO PERSONS THE QUICKEST WAY TO AN EXIT FROM THE POINT AT WHICH THE PERSON OR PERSONS ARE.
If the area is dark the fluorescent material will reflect back.
If the room/area is smoke filled the person may feel the strip which will indicate by the expression of the arrows the way to the nearest exit.
The invention would be an additional part of the fire and emergency service given to the public which would be explained in writing as part of the fire procedure of that particular building.
