Description
Gear Lubrication System
This invention is a method of lubricating or cooling gears.
Gears often require lubrication or cooling to work efficiently.
In this invention holes or pores in the surface of the gear teeth allow fluid to reach the contact surfaces.
Specific embodiments of the invention will now be described by way of examples with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 shows a plan of a gear with a number of lubricant passages to the contact area shown as hidden detail.
Figure 2 shows a section through B-B on figure 1 with the fluid flowing through passages to the contact area.
In this example lubricant passes from the reservoir through the passage to the contact surfaces.
It might be pumped, or flow under gravitational, surface tension, centripetal or other forces, or otherwise.
Other forms of the same invention might include using a different number, shape or location of holes application to non-rotary parts variation in angles or sizes, or the use of internal angles instead of extemal angles or visa
versa variation in the size or shape of the reservoir and/or passages the use of different numbers or forms of any component, features or amalgamation of any of
the components or features.
the use of contrait, worm, bevel, hyploid or any other type of gear,
or any other materially similar configuration.
