Abstract
229,414. Lewis, R. D., (trading as Lewis & Son, W.). Nov. 29, 1923. Metal pipes and tubes.-Colliery ventilation pipes of large diameter and made of comparatively thin sheet metal are strengthened at their ends and at intermediate points by metal stiffeners E which pass diametrically across the tube and has flanged ends for riveting to the tube. Where the stiffeners cross, each is slotted to form an interlocking joint, or one stiffener may be formed in two parts and riveted to the other.
