Abstract

This invention relates to a RF transmitter getting rid of pests, comprising a circuit which supplies electrical signals determined by a mathematical algorithm. The resulting frequency spectrum is converted into two sequences which follow the pattern of the algorithm itself. <IMAGE>

Description

An electronic device particularly suitable for getting rid of mice, rats, cockroaches and similar vermin.
* * * The shortcomings of the systems currently used for getting rid of mice, rats, cockroaches and the like are known to all and the high level of social organization and extraordinary capacity of adaptation of the above mentioned vermin have frustrated even those attempts based on the use of new poisonous molecules (anticoagulants causing internal haemorrhage).
Furthermore, the placing of these poisonous substances where food is kept or where people work may have dangerous consequences on human beings. In fact, due to either natural convection or to the air-conditioning systems, these poisonous substances may be dispersed in the air thus causing intoxication with lethal effects.
A first step forward and away from the use bf chemical substances has been the invention of devices making use of sub- or ultrasonic waves.
The main shortcoming of these systems, however, is that the animals in question eventually develop a tolerance to these waves while, on the contrary, they have negative effects on the human ear causing nausea and headaches associated with a loss of balance and a considerable increase of stress, besides having dangerous side effects, such as the cavitation of cells.
This invention relates to a device making use of signals transmitted under form of magnetic waves, which interfere with the aforementioned vermin's biological guidance system and, therefore, with no harmful effects on human beings.
The device hereunder consists of a source of suitably processed signals, which are initially preamplified, then further amplified and transmitted as magnetic waves which, as previously mentioned, interfere with the vermin's biological system causing their flight, in the majority of cases, and even their death.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which.
Figure 1 shows a block diagram of the device; Figure 2 shows a diagram of the preferred embodiment.
Referring to the drawing, in particular to Pig. 1, this invention comprises a source 1 supplying the signals which are then preamplified by the amplifier 2, so as to control a power amplifier 3, from which the signal is taken and sent to the transducer 10, substantially comprising a transmitting antenna capable of transforming electrical signals into magnetic waves.
Referring to Fig. 2, which shows a diagram of the preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an integrated circuit 4 functioning as a source supplying a square wave signal (clock), with a frequency ranging from 40 KHz to 200 KHz (the frequency of the preferred embodiment being 160 KH2 ); this signal is processed by the circuit 5 by means of a 2- to n-bit algorithm (the preferred embodiment makin - use of a 17-bit algorithm).
The device provides for the adding to the new signal supplied by the circuit 5 of the frequency generated by the circuit 11, whose period ranges from 20 to 100 ms (and which in the preferred embodiment is equal to 62 ms), this frequency being used to adjust the power output.
The further introduction of a 1 Hz frequency, supplied by tne circuit a, enables the timing of the output signals according to the following sequence: 4 sec output and 12 sec pause.
The circuit 5 output signal, in sync with the previously introduced algorithm, is then sent to a cathode follower 5A for impedance matching between the circuit 5 and the subsequent step.
The cathode follower 5A output signal is taken and sent to a switching circuit consisting of transistors 6A and XA which, under the control of the circuit 4, alternatively sends the two signals (taken according to the time constants 6 and 7) to the preamplifier 9.
The preamplifier 9 output signals are sent to the power amplifier 9 linked to a suitable transmitting antenna 10, capable of transforming them into magnetic waves.
As previously stated, these magnetic waves interfere with the vermin's (especially mice, rats, cockroaches and the like) biological guidance system and determines their flight and, in some cases, even their death.
