Abstract

An apparatus and method of tracking and reporting the location of a mobile article, such as a stolen motor vehicle. A controller (26) receives and analyzes positioning signals transmitted from known locations to determine the location of the motor vehicle. The controller (26) contacts a central tracking station (26) to report the theft and the location of the motor vehicle. <IMAGE>
