Abstract
228,867. Scheibe, W. Feb. 4, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Dwellings, arrangement and design of.-Houses for settlements are built with their sides together but with their fronts forming a closed figure, circular, oval or polygonal in form, each house being trapezium-shaped in ground section and having garden spaces 3, 4 at the front and back respectively. One common road 7 passing from a main street through or under one of the houses to an internal circular path 6 serves for all the houses in the block. By this arrangement houses are stated to resist earthquakes and are not overlooked, and, the drainage and like arrangements are simplified. Fig. 2 shows an estate in which the plots of land containing the settlements are arranged back to back each facing a main road.
