Abstract

The disability aid (1, 11) comprises an elongate support arrangement (2, 3; 12) having a ground-engaging footrest (6, 14) extending transversely therefrom, the footrest (6, 14) being arranged to support the foot of a user. In one embodiment the support arrangement (2, 3; 12) comprises an elongate pole or rod provided with an 2 underarm crutch support (13) and/or a handle (9). In a preferred embodiment adapted to encourage the disabled person to use a damaged limb, the support arrangement (13) further comprises an elongate actuation member (17) pivotally connected to the remainder of the support arrangement (12). Pivotal movement of the actuation member (17) relative to the remainder of the support arrangement (12) causes the footrest (14) (and hence the users foot) to be carried over the ground surface. <IMAGE>
