Description
ROTARY DOOR SUYSIEM FOR
THE TRANSPORT INDUSTRY
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A ROTARY DOOR SYSTEM
ENTER/EXIT DOOR USED BY THE TRANSPORT INDUSTRY FOLLOW HISTORIC DESIGN
AND CONSIST OF PANELS INCIÜDING GLASS THAT ARE FIXED TO A HINGE. OR IN
SOME CASES TWO HINGES. TO OPEN THE DOOR. PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE
DOOR FANEL. THE DOOR THEN MOVES LATERALLY OUTWARDS. PIVOTED ON THE HINGE.
THE DOOR IS CLOSED BY APPLYING PRESSURE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
DOORS OF THIS TYPE - THE IRADIIIONAL TYPE. HAVE DISADVANTAGES. AMONG
THEM ARE :
1. EXCESSIVE WEIGHT.
2. OPENINS THE DOOR IMORRESES WIDTH OF THE VEHICLE. LEADIMS TO POOSIBLE
DANGEROUS SITUATIONE.
3. OPENINS THE DOOR OR DOORS CALLS FOR THE VEMICLE TO PARK WITH
SUFICIENT SPACE AROUMD iT.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION. THE DOOR DESIGN IS SUCH THAT ENTRY EXIT
IS OBTAINED WITHOUT CAUSING DANGER OF ORSTRACTION WHEN OPENINS THE DOORS.
A SPECIFIC EXAMPLE OF THE INVENTION WELL NOW BE DEECRIBED WITH BEFFREMCE
TO ACCOMPANYING DRAWING IN WHICH THE DOOR SYSTEN IS SHOWN FRITED TO A
MOPED.
FIGURE 1 SHOWNS THE SIDE ELEVATION.
FIGURE 2 ILLUSTRATES THE ROIARY DOOR ACTION.
FIGURE 3 ILLUSTRATED THE ROTARY DOOR ACTION.
FIGURE 4 90 SEGMENT FITRED TO SPORTS CAR.
REPERRINS TO FIGURE 2. THE ROTARY DOOR IS SEEN TO DE PIVOTED IN ITS
CENTRE. THE PIVOT IS PIXED INIO THE CENTRE OF THE VERTTCAL HIGE OF A 180 SEGMENT. THIS SEGMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPLANATION CAN REMAIN
FIXED OR STATIONARY. THE ROIARY 180 SEGMENT IS ATTACHES TO THE PIVET
AND CAN BE ROTATED TO OPEN AND CLOSE.
Claims (9)
1. A METHOD OF ENTRY OR EXIT IN WHICH IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO CAUSE
OBSTRUCTION TO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
2. A OTARY DOOR SYSTEM OF LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION
3. A ROTARY DOOR SYSTEM WHICH CAN BE MANUFACTURED FORM METAL, VARIOUS
PLASTICS, PERSPEX. POLYCARBONATE ETC.
4. A ROTARY DOOR SYSTEM WHICH PROVIDES FRONT OR REAR ENTRY/EXIT WIHTIN
THE DIAMETER OF THE RADIUS.
5. A DOOR SYSIEM IN WHICH A CIRCLE IS DIVIDED VERIICALLY TO CREATE
TWO 180 SEGMENTS.
FIGURE 2
6. A DOOR SYSIEM WHICH PROVIDES UNINTERRUPIED SPACE FOR ENTRY/EXIT
HALF OF THE WIDTH OF THE CIRCLE.
FIGURE 3
7. A DOOR SYSTEM IN WHICH ONE 180 SEGMENT CAN ROTATE OVER THE OTHER
TO CREATE AN OPENING FQUAL TO THE AREA OCCUPIED BY THE SEGMENT.
FIGURE 3
8. A ROTARY DOOR SYSTEM IN WHICH THE PIVOT CAN BE POSITIONED TO ENABLE
THE ENTRY/EXIT SEGEMENT TO BE OF LARGER AREA CREATING ENTRY/EXIT
SPACE EXCEEDING 180 .
9. A DOOR SYSTEM THAT CAN OPERATE THROUGH 90 SEGMENT.
