Abstract

226,041. Brookes, J. B. Dec. 21, 1923. Helical springs.-In upholstery springs of the kind described in Specifications 15941/10 and 164,821, wherein one or more of the coils are provided with radially extending loops or kinks which form an anchorage for link members by which a number of springs are connected together and to upholstery frames, each loop 2 is formed by bending the wire into a completely annular ring. Preferably, there are four of such loops, and they may project radially outwards or inwards of the coil. The end of the coil may be anchored in one of the loops. The spring arrangement for a mattress is shown, wire links 5 and rings 6 connecting the springs and outer V- shaped links 7 being connected to eye members 8 and springs 10 secured to the outer frame 9.
