Abstract

225,798. Lieder, O. E. Aug. 8, 1924. Chairs with adjustable or separate jaws; sleepers, securing rails to. - The rail 6 is supported on a sole plate 2 secured to a sleeper 1 and formed with slots 5 to receive on each side of the rail a dovetailed and crossheaded jib 4, which clamps the rail in place by the aid of a cotter 8 wedged between a lug 10 on the sole plate and the web of the jib, and a cotter 7 between the head of the jib and the foot of the rail. When a metal sleeper is employed the sole plate may be dispensed with, the top of the sleeper being adapted to take the jib and the cotter 8.
