Abstract

An indicating or attention attracting device, eg. for sport, leisure or safety applications, using a light source which is secured on the hand or forearm in a self contained unit, allowing free use of the hand for tasks or other purposes. The device is ambidextrous and is operated by the movement of part of, or manipulating of, the hand via a rocking lever action A to a switch. The device is an independent unit and has a self contained power source, light source and electronic circuit. The hand can be held in a suitable position with the device to satisfy the required direction for indication or attracting attention. <IMAGE>

Description

HAND LIGHT This invention is for an indicating or attention attracting device using a light source which is secured on the hand or forearm in a self contained unit.
The device is ambidextrous and is operated in an on/off mode by the action of a rocking lever, A, to a switch by the movement of part of, or manipulation of the hand.
An example of the ON/OFF operation of the device is indicated by the attached diagrams showing the use of the fingers as follows ON Figure 1. Fingers straightened back.
OFF Figure 2. Fingers in the rest or grip position.
Possible switching methods include for example Mercury tilt switch Magnetically operated switch Button switch Touch pad Proximity switch Micro switch Part of the device body has reflective properties.
The hand can be held in a suitable position with the device on to satisfy the required direction for indication or attracting attention.
The device is an independent unit and has a self contained power source, light source and electronic circuit.
Uses for the device are, for example sport, leisure and safety applications.

Claims (4)

1 An independent indicating or attention attracting device using a light source which is secured on the hand or forearm in such a way as to allow free use of the hand for tasks or other purposes.
2 An independent indicating or attention attracting device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the on/off operation is executed by the action of a rocking lever to a switch by the movement of part of, or manipulation of the hand.
3 An independent indicating or attention attracting device as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the unit is ambidextrous.
4 An independent indicating or attention attracting device substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing.
