224,622. Shaw, J. S. Aug. 23, 1923. Glass furnaces.-The bridge 9 between the melting and refining compartments of a melting- tank is formed with two or more side-by-side passages 7, 8, through which air or steam is passed for cooling the bridge. The passages are at right-angles to the dog-hole 6. The bridge is shown in a furnace substantially identical with that described in, Specification 144,744.
