Abstract

A push-fit pipe coupling (1) comprises a tubular body (2) with an annular recess (3) extending from one end concentric with and radially spaced from the bore (4) of the body. The recess is provided with a sealing ring (5) establishing a seal between a pipe and the coupling. The coupling is provided with a grab ring (6) for grabbing the pipe to resist withdrawal thereof from the coupling. A washer (7) for supporting the grab ring is positioned between the sealing ring (5) and the grab ring (6). Another washer (10) is disposed between the sealing ring (5) and the retaining ring (8) for acting as a barrier preventing weld flash material (9) from reaching the seal area of the sealing ring (5). <IMAGE>
