Description
MULTI PURPOSE PONCHO JACKET
DESCRIPTION
This invention relates to a multi-purpose poncho style jacket.
Jackets:- the same design format has been used for years, either front fastening or placed over the head.
Jackets used for babies, small children, or physically handicapped people of all ages can be very awkward to put on.
According to the present invention I have provided fasteners down the side seam and under arms Fig 2. so the whole jacket can either be laid flat for the baby/patient/child for instance to be laid on and by folding the jacket over the head and fastening the side seams makes easy work. The shoulder and top sleeve seam can also fasten by opening all seams and laying the jacket flat and using the sleeves this time as the body, making an open fronted jacket.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accommpanying drawings in which;
Fig 1. Shows plan view of open garment from inside.
Fig 2. Shows garment folded over fastened along top arm and shoulder seam up
side seams and under arms, with pocket to centre front. Neck opening
to shoulder seam.
Fig 3. Shows garment worn with bodice of Fig 2 used as sleeves centre front
pocket now appearing on sleeve. Neck opening at centre front down bodice
(fig 2 Sleeve) forms new jacket with opening down centre front 2.
Referring to the drawings the jacket comprises of two sleeves, a bodice, a pocket and collar. The invention as described above incorporates press stud fasteners to enable fixing of the garment in position, it would be readily apparent that other fastening means could be provided as an alternative for example Velcro (reg trade mark) zips etc.
It is well known that the dressing of babies/children/patients/physically handicapped people can be a difficult and sometimes a painful task.
The object of the present invention is to provide a garment, particularly for use with babies/children/patients/physically handicapped people which can be easily put on, worn with comfort, easily removed, and adapts to the needs of the wearer. It is reversible in the event of accidental staining.
The collar shown is made of an absorbant material and can be detatched or sewn in depending on customer requirements.
