Abstract

224,059. Kerr, J. Oct. 8, 1923. Flax-pulling machines.-The flax passes between forwardly-projecting laths L carried on a rectangular frame A and held apart against the tension of springs H by a lever G engaging a rack G<2> and connected by a rod R to the outside lath. Webbing or similar flexible material W connects the laths. After the laths have been introduced into the flax the lever G is released and the laths move laterally under the action of the springs H, gripping the flap. The machine is then rocked on a small wheel B<1> mounted on arcuate brackets B thus pulling the flax.
