Description
Metal Anchorage
This invention relates to a Metal Anchorage, for securing Square or
Rectangular posts to the ground.
Metal Anchorages for securing square or rectsngular posts are a popular device today for fixing fencing panels or repairing broken posts.
Netal Anchorages rely on bolts or welds, which over time leads to breakages at joints or seams. Therefore tne hetal Anctiorages need replacing at regular intervals According to this present invention, a single piece of metal is bent or formed to a square or rectangle at one ad. The square or rectangle will have teotapered flanges on one corner. Tne metal Anchorage will have a point at the opposite end. The Metal Anchorage will have a small indent for post stop height.
To lock the hetal Anchorage, a Metal Wedge is formed witn two flanges on a taper corresponding to the Metal Anchorage When the Metal Wedee is forced on to the tapered flanges of the Metal Anchorage this will have the effect of tightening the square or rectangle.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described bj waJ of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which; Figure I snows in perspective the Metal Anchorage in its bent form.
Figure 2 snows tne Metal Wedge in its bent form.
Ref erring to the drawinb Fig I the Metal Anchorage is shown in its bent or formed state, with the formed square or rectangle II naving two
Tapered flanges 10. A small indent (not shown) will be opposite the two Tapered flanges. The point for penetration is shown at I2.
Referring to the drawing Fig 2 the Metal Wedge will have two flanges 20.
Claims (1)
- I. A Metal Anchorage comprising a single piece of metal bent or formeS to give a square or rectangle with two tapered flanges at one corner. A small indent in the opposite corner to the tapered flanges gives a post stop height. The bottom to have a point for ground penetration, A Petal Wedge formed with two flanges on a corresponding taper to the Metal Anchorage.2. A Metal Anchorage formed of a single piece of metal as Claimed in Claim I.A A Metal Anchorage comprising a single piece of metal bent or formed to give a square or rectangle as Claimed in Claim I having two tapered flanges as Claimed in Claim I or Claim 2 or Claim 3, a small indent on A Metal Anchorage as a post stop height as Claimed in Claim I or Claim 3 4. A Metal Wedge as Claimed in Claim I with two flanges on a corresponding taper to the Metal Anchorage as Claimed in Claim I, or Claim 4 A A Metal Anchorage as Claimed in any preceding Claim, having a point at the bottom for ground penetration.6. A Metal Anchorage substantially as described herein with reference to Figures I -2 of the accompanying drawing.
