Abstract

223,161. Nolan, S. N. April 28, 1924. Valves.-Inlet and exhaust ports 2, 1 are controlled by ports 7, 8 in a pair of reciprocating sleeves G, F, the ports 7, 8 being splayed towards each other as shown in Fig. 2; or only one of the ports may be so splayed. In a modification, the inlet ports 2 are arranged above the exhaust ports 1. The ports 7, 8 are arranged so as to be enclosed between the cylinder and cylinder head during the expansion stroke.
