Abstract
A screw driver comprises a revolvable shaft 1, a handle 20, and a ratchet holder 30. The handle 20 has two lateral channels 21, 22 for storage of spare driver heads 2b, 2c, 2d and for receiving a foldable lever 31. The handle also has a magnet 24 to prevent spare driver heads from dropping and to hold the lever. A two-way ratchet is provided in the ratchet holder with a control tenon 33 to change the direction of rotation of the ratchet. In its folded position, lever 31 fixes shaft 1 to handle 20 and the screwdriver is operated normally. To facilitate operation, lever 31 is extended, freeing shaft 1 from handle 20, and is used to turn the shaft via the two-way ratchet. <IMAGE>
Description
TITLE: MULTI-EFFECT SCREW DRIVER
Although regular screw drivers are innumerable, and may have a ratchet; gear or may adopt the principle of. lever to minimize hand power consumption, of which the driver head may be replaceable. however the structure may be complicated, not very strong, not convenient to operate or to replace the driver head.
In view of said problems, a multi-effect screw driver is thus created to provide a simple but strong stur@ture for porformance in the most efficient and practical way.
The maJ. ri object, of the present invention is to provide a multi-effect screw driver wherein a revolvable driver rod is conijected with a handle and a plurality of spare driver heads are stored in a scoop channel at the lateral side of the hale. ln contrary to the prior art wherein spare driver heads are concealed at; tlie bottom, the present method is more convenient to take therefrom or place thereto the spare driver heads, and the structure provided is more strong.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a multi -effect screw driver wherein a collapsible lever is coupled with a ratchet holder. When tlie lever is extended, the ratchet holder is separated from the handle to provide bigger torsional force for labor-saving operation. When the lever is collapsed, it is arranged in the other scoop channel of the handle to fis the ratchet holder with the handle, and to become a regular screw driver. The handle is also arranged to provide a cylindrical magnet at the upper end with the both ends of t}ie magnet exi'osed at the circular groove of tile handle, so as to at tract spare driver heads at one eiid to prevent tlte driver heads from dropping, and to attract the collapsed lever at the other end.
A yet furtiier object of the present invention is to p@ovide a multi-effect screw driver wherein the said ratchet holder is arranged to provide a double-way ratchet to control tlie revolving direction of the driver rod. A ring-shaped metal plate is provided to revolvably connect the ratchet holder with the driver rod.
The above-described and other objects of this invention will be more apparent from the following descriptions quoted on the basis of annesed drawings as hereunder.
FIG. 1 is a schematic drawing, illustrating the outer appearance of the invention.
FIG. 2 is a perspective front view of the present invention.
FIG. 3 is a front view of the present inveiitioii taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2, illustrating expansion of tiie I ever.
FIG. 4 is a sectional view of FIG. 1.
FIG. 5 is a sectional view drawing taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 4.
FIG. 6 is a sectional view drawing taken alone line 6-6 of FIG. 4.
FIG. 7 is a sectioiial view drawing taken along line 7-7 taken of FIG. 4.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, a driver, according to the present invention, is comprised of a driver rod 1, a handle 20, a ratchet holder 30.
TIie said driver rod 1 which is revolvable is connected with the handle 20 by means of an axial hole.
A driver head bushing 14 is arranged at the lower portion of the driver rod 1. The rear end of the said bushing 14 is arranged to provide a hexagonal or polygonal iiole for a driver head 2a to set therein in the most efficient way such that the driver head 2a is replaceable with different driver head 2a, 2b, 2c or 2d, when it is necessary. The said bushing 14 comprises a magnet 13 arranged thereinside, to firmly fix selected driver head by means of magnetic force, and to let the attached driver head provide magnetic property.
A ratchet bolder 30 is coupled with the said driver rod 1 and mounted on the front end of the handle 20. A ring-shaped metal plate 10 is arranged Rt the front of the said ratchet holder 30 coaxially connected with the driver rod 1 by means of embossed stripes 11 . The said rina-shaped metal plate 10 is movably set in the ratchet holder 30 for making relative rotation. The said ratchet holder is arranged to provide a bilateral tenon 33 at one side to control thc direction of the ratchet. The said bilateral tenon 33 may be slil fted to turn against the axle 32, s@ as to drive the ratchet to rotate in reverse direction.
The said ratchet holder 30 also compriscs a pivotal hol 18 at the other side, for connection with a leper 31 by means of a pivotal pin bl'.
The said handle 20 is arranged to provide two prolonged scoop channels 21, 22 at both sides. The scoop channel 21 is for receiving the lever 31 of the ratchet holder 30. The other scoop channel 22 is for receiving spare driver heads. A cylindrical magnet 24 is mounted on the handle at the upper end with both sides exposed at the opening of the top end of each scoop channel, so as to attract the rear end 29 of the spare driver head 2d to prevent the spare driver head from dropping . The front end 27 of the spare drier head 2d is connected with the rear end of another spare driver head 2c. By means of said arrangement, a plurality of spare driver heads are stored in the scoop channel 22. The another side of the magnet 24 is to attract the collapsed leer 31.The top end of the handle 20 is arranged to provide a circular groove 23 to facilitate the operation to take therefrom or place thereto the spare driver head and tlie lever 31.
Referring to FIG. 4 arid 6, the driver rod 1 is arranged to provide a circular groove 15 at the top end and the handle 2U is arranged to provide a bolt hole at the lateral side between the said two scoop channels 21, @22 for a bolt to screw therein to fix the driver rod 1 in the axial hole of the handle 20.When the lever 31 which is mounted on the ratchet holder 30 (as shown in FIG. 3) is extended outward, it provides a labor-saving operation to turn the driver. When the lever 31 is collapsed, it is received iii the scoop channel 21 of the handle 20 to fix the ratchet holder 34 with the handle 20 to become a regular screw driver.
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the both ends of the magnet 24 are to respective fix the spare driver head 2b and the lever which is arranged in the scoop channel 21. In contrast to the prior art wherein the spare driver head is stored at the bottom, the present method to store Spare driver heads at the lateral side of the handle 20 provide better and stronger structure.
Tn general, the present invention is to provide such a multi-effect screw driver having numerous features each of which tends to make the structure practical aiid utilitarian as well as durable in use.
